Gettings and Rocking the Many Hairstyles of Demi Lovato
Hey guys. First off I am so sorry I haven't been uploading lately. With school and everything ending soon, it's a bit hard to find time. But I've been working on this within the past few days. It's a bit different than the regular stuff I would, mostly cause I don't do hair stuff that often but I thought I'd give it a try. So Demi has had A LOT of hairstyles within the past few years as she has started to develop a slightly different style, leave Disney channel, etc. But we still love her and she is still just a gorgeous as she was a few years ago, if not even more :) So I thought I'd make slight little tips on how to make your hair like one of the four different hairstyles I've found that have been used by her lately. On with the tip..

Hairstyle NO1;;
What to ask your stylist for when you go to get it done- Dyed blonde (Unless yours is already blonde. Then you're good to go!) with the tips dip dyed a electric blue.
What you'll need to make it look like the picture- Hair bands//elastics, yourself or somebody with braiding skills, a hairbrush or comb.
Instructions- Pick what side of your head you want the braid on (Ex: Back, left, or right) Brush your hair thoroughly until it is soft and untangled. Now, braid it.
What outfits colors look good with this hairstyle- Whites, light blues, cream, tan, basic pale pink, etc.

Hairstyle NO2;;
What to ask your stylist for when you get it done- Dyed blonde (Again, unless it's already that way) with like a neon pink dip dye on the tips.
What you'll need to make it look like the picture- A hairbrush, straightener or flat iron (If you have curly hair)
Instructions- Brush until all tangles are gone and straighten with your flat iron. Simple as that.
What outfits colors look good with this hairstyle- Denim blue, black (Studded accessories are a cool addition too), dark hot pink, brown, leopard or cheetah print, etc..

Hairstyle NO3;;
What to ask your stylist for when// if you get it done- Dyed a medium chocolate brown.
What you'll need to make it look like the picture- Bobby pins, hair bands//elastics, hairspray, a hairbrush, a comb (teasing combs work especially well) and of course your hands.
Instructions- Brush your hair thoroughly til soft and untangled. Keeping your bangs down, put the rest of your hair up in a high pony tail. Now hold your bangs up, spraying them with the hairspray. Begin to tease them with your comb, just a little bit, to make a small poof. Now take a bobby pin and secure the poof in place. Spray again with hairspray to prevent any flyaway hairs later. Take your pony tail (That has been waiting ever so patiently) and slowly, wrap the hair around the center of the pony, thus creating a bun. Wrap a hair elastic around it to secure and spray.
What outfit colors look good with this hairstyle- Bright orange with white, dark velvety red, dark blue, black, etc.

Hairstyle NO4;;
What to ask your stylist for when you get it done- Dyed a velvet cupcake red//maroonish red color.
What you'll need to make it look like the picture- A curling iron, your hairbrush, head scarf// head band.
Instructions- After brushing your hair, loosely curl your hair. Once all curled, brush your fingers through to extra loosen the curls. Add the head band of your choice.
What outfit colors look good with this hairstyle- White, pale pink, cream, black, grey, army colored green, pale blue, etc.

Hope this helps all of my fellow Demi fans :) xx my lovelies

Getting A Better Toe Touch

Getting A Better Toe Touch
Hey I got this request by the lovely @your-so-beautiful and did quite a bit of research (Verrrrrry terrible research) I found this wonderful site that gave me enough info to write this:

When it comes to perfecting your toe touch, or any jump for that matter, there are quite a few things to keep in mind. Those include: flexibility, height, correct arm placement, keeping your toes pointed, legs straight, and chest up, and landing with your feet together.

Each of those elements combine to create the perfect toe touch. However, just as with learning to master any new skill, it comes with time. It's imperative that jumps of any kind be worked on prior to your tryout, competition, or for whatever reason you're trying to make it better. There are countless drills and tips you can use to improve your jumps. All you have to do is push yourself to do them.

Drills to practice:

* Start by stretching out. Stretching is the key to gaining and maintaining flexibility. And to avoid pulling or straining your muscles, make sure you are completely warmed up before throwing your jump.
* It's vital to constantly train your leg and stomach muscles. They are the ones who give you the height you need off the ground and enable your legs to be pulled higher.
* Do crunches! Lay on your back on the floor, with your legs straight out in front of you and your arms in a touchdown motion. Sit up, then bring your legs up and roll back into a toe touch, or straddle position, and bring your arms between to a T. It's like you're doing a toe touch sitting on the floor. 10-15 reps is a good start. While they may hurt after a few, and they'll certainly look and feel awkward, they will help your jumps tremendously.
* Next, do three sets of leg lifts. You will be in a straddle position with your hands behind you for support. Slightly lean back and lift both legs about a foot off the floor. Keep your legs straight, without letting them touch the floor, and lift them 10 times. Release, then count to 10 for a breather and repeat. Do a total of three sets. Once again, these exercises are hard but will strengthen your legs and increase the height of your jumps.
* Squat jumps are great for gaining height and strength in the right areas to improve your toe touch. Crouch down, touching your fingertips to the floor. Then jump up, bringing your arms above your head, shrugging your shoulders up like you would doing a jump. As soon as your feet touch the floor, return to the starting position. It's good to start with 20 or so.
* After leg lifts and squat jumps, you're ready for side high kicks. Place your arms in a T or high V motion, then start off by kicking your right leg up five times. Take about a 5-second breather, then do the same with your left leg. Just as with squat jumps, increase your kicks gradually.
* Do a few tuck jumps with the approach. As soon as your feet hit the floor, go back up into a tuck with no prep. This will work your stomach and legs muscles together. Start by doing at least five.

Tips to remember:

* Keep your head up and your back straight.
* You must have a good prep. If you don't use correct technique - feet and legs together, bent knees, back straight - your jump will not look very good. Really concentrate on using the muscles in your legs when prepping. Remember, that's how you get off the ground to execute your jump in the first place!
* When you're in the toe touch position, in the air, do NOT reach for your legs. Your arms should be in a T motion, and you should bring your legs to your arms.
* Keep your legs straight. Bent legs make your toe touch look sloppy.
* Point your toes.
* Snap your legs down with as much force as you brought up.
* Land with a slight bend in your knees. You could easily cause damage by landing with too much force on straight legs.
* Something to keep in mind is that you have to consistently work on building up the strength in your arms, shoulders, abs, and legs.
* Work on all aspects of your toe touch - the prep, lifting, execution, with all the small details, and your landing.
* Practice! Work on your jumps each and every day. You must build endurance just like you would in a normal workout.

More ways to develop/improve your toe touch:

* Put your jumps to an 8-count and repeat. Start with three or four and gradually increase.
* Practice with assistance. Stand facing a teammate, then have him or her support you under your forearms. The teammate who is supporting you should push up on your arms as you jump. This is a good exercise for you, whether you're a cheerleader or dancer, to get the feel of a toe touch while learning to point your toes.
* Practice the straddle hold. Sit on the floor in a straddle position. Point your toes and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat as many times as you feel necessary.
* Do straddle lifts. There are a few variations to this exercise. Sit on the floor in a straddle position, then:
o Lift both legs up, keeping them straight. Your arms should be pointed down touching the floor directly in front of you. Slightly bounce them up and down, without letting them touch the ground. (Hint: Your legs do not need to be lifted very far off the ground.)
o Lift only your right leg, still keeping both legs straight. Repeat above steps, with the exception of one leg, then do the same for your left leg.
o Lift both legs up slightly, keeping them straight. Hold them in that position for 10 seconds, without bouncing. Then slowly bring them back down. Repeat two to five times.
* Hang from a bar, if available, and lift your legs in V-up movements. V-up sit-ups are relatively like normal sit-ups. Lay flat on the ground with your arms in an upward touchdown motion. Bring your upper body and your legs up (keeping them straight) at the same time, touch your touches, then slowly lay back down. Repeat 10 times. You can also use the crunch-style that is mentioned under the Drills section.

Hope this helps you and good luck @your-so-beautiful :)

Making This The Best Summer Ever

Two months ago - 313 views
Making This The Best Summer Ever
Okay so this summer I'm focusing on trying a boatload of new things and trying to make this my favorite summer. Here's a list of my ideas you can do this summer so it doesn't seem too boring;;
O1. Go to a concert with your besties
O2. Remake your wardrobe
O3. Catch up on all your favorite TV shows you didn't have much time to watch during the school year when you were studying
O4. Go camping or go to camp for a week/a few weeks
O5. Watch fireworks! (Tip- ask your crush if he/she wants to come over and watch them with you)
O6. Try a new sport like water skiing, volleyball, or surfing
O7. Go online at www.psimadethis.com or www.pintrest.com and find some cool DIY's! Not only is it a bored buster, but it's also a good way to spice up your wardrobe and add something cute and fresh
O8. Tired of over-reading your books? Write your own or hit the library and try to find a new favorite author
O9. Throw a luau party! Grass skirts, cute tan guys, leis, fun tropical recipes, and your best friends.(Tip- throw it in your backyard or if it's allowed, the local pool)
1O. Create a scrapbook or a collage from the summer- keep the old concert tickets, movie tickets, pics you took of you and your friends, etc. Store it near your bed or, if it's a collage, hang it up on your wall so you can look at it year round!
ll. Try flirting with your crush. After all, it's your summer isn't it?
l2. Create a poolside playlist on your ipod of all you/your friends favorite songs
l3. Been wanting to learn a new language? Try French, Spanish, or maybe even a little Hawaiian
l4. Try taking a lesson of something your interested in- cooking, gymnastics, tumbling, swimming, singing, tap dancing, guitar, drums, etc. Who knows? You could be really good at it! :)
l5. Start a new Youtube channel and post a whole bunch of vids throughout the summer
l6. Go to a ball game (Tip- Don't wanna spend money on it? Start a weekly ball game at the local park or in your backyard. It's a great way to see your friends and to meet a few cute ball players ;)
l7. Try going to a festival of something you've never heard about before. Not religious? Try going to a church festival. Not very artsy? Try going to an art or music festival. You might even find something ya like
l8. Did you know everyday has a holiday? Do some research and throw a party for Stupid Guy Thing Day (June 22), Don't Step On A Bee Day (July 10), National Chocolate Chip Day (August 4), or National Waffle Day (August 24), or make up your own
l9. If you're a night owl, try throwing your own midnight movie premiere of your favorite movies such as The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight, Grease, etc. (Tip- If ya wanna make it even better ask some people to dress up as their favorite characters)
2O. Watch the stars
2l. Don’t know what to wear to your fave band’s concert this summer? How about designing your own t-shirt? You can get a plain tee and DIY with fabric markers/paints or tie dye, or you can look online or near you for companies that will make your funky designs into your new fave t-shirt.
22. No need to spend your summer missing school dances. Throw your own in your backyard! Get your friends together and invite everyone you know, decorate with strings of holiday lights or paper lanterns and have a friend play DJ. Everyone will have a blast getting all dressed up and dancing the night away.
23. Make your summer truly legendary by trying to break a world record. Look up current records online or in a book and find one that you want to shatter. You can get your friends to help and spend you spare time practicing. Make sure your names go down in history!
24. Just because the sun went down doesn’t mean your outdoor fun has to end! Organize a big game of flashlight tag or hide and seek. And you’re never too old to catch fireflies – just make sure you let them go safe and sound once you’re done.
25. Does your life have enough drama to be its own movie? Well, why not give it its own soundtrack? Pick your fave songs that you can imagine for your opening credits, your first date, your big dramatic fight, and, of course, the happily ever after. Make a playlist of a CD of your final picks and you can listen to your autobiography all summer long.
26. Find a laser tag place near you and have fun battling it out with your best buds. Can’t find one or don’t want to spend the money? Move the fight to your backyard with water or Nerf guns and don’t be afraid to get messy! Laser tag isn’t just for boys, but we'll bet your crush probably wouldn’t say no if you invited him along….
27. Sitting around in front of telly all summer starts to get a bit boring. So grab a pack of Uno cards and make a tournament of it! The poker pros in Vegas do it, why can’t you and your friends?! Play round by round until you have the ultimate winner. (Tip- Use those bragging rights you have)
28. Look up urban legends, and/or ghost stories in your town then go be Sherlock Holmes for while and investigate
29. Treat yourself to a manicure. Or a pedicure.
3O. Start a tumblr or pintrest blog
3l. Turn on the telly and put it on mute then make up a dialogue or put on music and see how well the music matches up with the show
32. Make faces at strangers to make them laugh.
33. Create a masterpiece on your driveway with sidewalk chalk.
34. Bake cookies. Put them in pretty containers and deliver them to your friends.
35. Record a funny new greeting for your voice mail. (Tip- Get your friends to join and make up weird accents)
36. Glue money to the floor and watch people try to pick it up. (Tip- If it's funny enough, get it on video and upload it to youtube then link it to all your friends/family)
4O. Make a collage of all your favorite stars (Tip- Clip pics of them from a bunch of your favorite magazines)
4l. Make an earring holder out of a branch.
42. Orgaize your room.
43. Try the cinnamon challenge, the rope challenge, the colored milk challenge, or any other ones you can find.
44. Dye your hair an unnatural color like blue, purple, green, turqiouse, or velvet cupcake red- like Ariana Grande. (tip- Ask your parents first lol)
45. Go to the world market and buy some foreign candy (Tip- Try the Japenese Hello Kitty Sours or Mustache Mints. I'm obsessed with them)
46. Attempt to wash a car like Carly Rae Jepsen did in her music video for Call Me Maybe(I know it sounds really dumb but I tried once and it was hilarious)
47. Try to get a tan in the rain. (Tip- Get a picture of it and put it in a scarpbook so you can laugh later on)
48. Get a picture with every single person you meet. You will have so much more pictures than you think.
49. Talk to a random stranger at the store. Try to start a conversation.
5O. Last but not least, go on Polyvore as much as you can (T- I'm telling you this because I love you ok)

Hope that helped. If it didn't..well..don't tell me cos I'm trying to keep a positive attitude here.
